The Assam Public Service Commission has announced about the recruitment of principal, assistant engineer and junior engineer. The public service commission is a body framed by the Constitution of India. The work of Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) is to take care of all the public services in the state of Assam. To carry out public services, the APSC requires a huge lot of staff. So one more function of the APSC is to recruit the staff wherever the vacancy is generated and to put the right person on right place.

As a government unit the APSC recruits the staff by undertaking the exams such as CCPE. The exams of CCPE are conducted to test the primary competence of the applicants. The CCPE stands for Combined Competitive Preliminary Exams. The exams are Multiple Choice based questions. The papers are checked by the computer system with the help of Optical Mark Reader (OMR). Marks will also be calculated by the same. No personal checking and any bias are done. The State has authorized the commission to carry out the Examination for recruitment at entry level for public services. So here is one such recruitment exam for the given posts.

Name of the Posts: Principal – 1 Post

Assistant Engineer – 133 Posts

Junior Engineer – 125 Posts

Pay Scale: 1. Principal – Rs. 37,400 to Rs. 67,000 along with grade pay of Rs. 10,000 in addition to special pay of Rs. 3000 per month and other allowances.
2. Assistant Engineer – Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 40,000 along with grade pay of Rs. 5,400 and other allowances.

3. Junior Engineer – Rs. 5,200 to Rs. 20,200 along with grade pay of Rs. 3,300 and other allowances.

Educational Qualification:

Principal – Bachelors and Master Degree in Engineering & Technology with first class or Master degree with Ph.D. in Engineering. The candidate is required to have minimum 10 years in teaching.
Assistant Engineer – Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from recognized institute.
Junior Engineer – Three Years Diploma in Civil Engineering from recognized institute.

Last Date for online Application: 18^th January, 2014.

Age Limit: Principal – The candidate should be of age between 45 to 55 years.

Assistant Engineer – The candidate should be of age between 21 to 38 years.

Junior Engineer – The candidate should be of age between 18 to 38 years.

Application Fees: Rs. 5 for all and Rs. 2.5 for SC / ST candidates.

Fee Payment Mode: Through Treasury Challan showing the name of post and department.
