Chartered Accountancy is considered as one of the best degree in the society. The starting step for the course of Chartered Accountancy is the Common Proficiency Course followed by the Integrated Professional Competence Course cracking the same will allow the candidate to join the Articleship training and then the student may proceed for the Final Course. The overall results of the Chartered Accountancy exams are very low. The students have to put up all their efforts to clear the exams. There are limited chartered accountants in the market due to its depth and the toughness of the course.

The Chartered Accountancy course is offered and regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India framed under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 (38 of 1949). It regulates the administration of students and members of the Institute. It conducts exams at different levels of the course. The other function of the ICAI is to issue the Accounting Standards, which are then approved by the Central Government in consultation with the National Advisory Committee on Accounting Standards. The exams of CPT are conducted twice in a year in the month of June and December. The CPT for the December 2013 was conducted on 15^th December, 2013.
